The Government of Sindh will observe a one-minute silence on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, to mark Youm-e-Istehsal (Day of Exploitation) and express solidarity with Kashmiris.
According to a notice issued by the Sindh Information Department, the silence will be observed at 9:00am across the province in support of Kashmiris and to protest what it described as the military siege in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The directive applies to all government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils functioning under the administrative control of the Sindh government.
“The Government of Sindh shall observe one minute silence at 09:00 hrs on account of Youm-e-Istehsal on 05th August, 2026 (Wednesday), in support of Kashmiris and against the military siege of Indian illegally occupied Jammu & Kashmir,” the notification said.
Youm-e-Istehsal is observed in Pakistan on August 5 to express solidarity with Kashmiris and mark opposition to India’s August 5, 2019 decision regarding the status of Jammu and Kashmir.
