KARACHI: The Sindh government has granted permission to industrial businesses to resume their operations amid coronavirus lockdown.
The number of 82 industries has been allowed by the government to resume the operations after submitting an undertaking to fully follow the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)s designed as a precaution in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
A notification issued by the Sindh home department stated that 82 factories were allowed to resume their operation to complete their export orders. “The factories would be bound to follow the SOPs amid coronavirus outbreak,” the notification stated.
Earlier 69 units were allowed to resume their operations in Sindh. The provincial authorities sealed three factory units in Karachi for violating SOPs issued by the Sindh government to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Last week, Sindh Traders Alliance Chairman Jamil Ahmed Paracha announced to open all markets across Sindh from 15th April by saying that the traders have already cooperated with the provincial government amid coronavirus pandemic by closing all markets for 28 days.
On 15th April the traders tried to open the markets in the Saddar area but they were stopped by the police officials. Later they extended their protest after meeting with the governor Sindh.
