DERA GHAZI KHAN: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president and opposition leader in National Assembly, Shehbaz Sharif on Monday hinted at converting the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) into an electoral alliance.
Addressing a press conference in Dera Ghazi Khan, Shehbaz Sharif said that PML-N had worked for the development of South Punjab during its tenure.
He said they had launched a project to provide clean water, built hospitals and educational institutions for the people of South Punjab. He said that his party also improved infrastructure and constructed roads.
“Those taking name of Riyasat-e-Madina have only destroyed the economy of Pakistan,” he said. “I fear the task for the next government to improve the economy.”
Shehbaz Sharif further said that everything in politics is possible but within certain limits. It’s not the right time to bring no-confidence motion against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, the PML-N leader stated. He said Nawaz Sharif was the party’s leader for life and they remain united under his leadership.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar on Monday said that people of Dera Ghazi Khan have rejected the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
Buzdar said that people by disassociating themselves from the public rally proved that they want development instead of negative politics. He said that the unnatural alliance held a small gathering in DG Khan and destroyed whatever credibility it had
A day earlier, PDM held a public rally in DG Khan as part of protests against the government. Addressing the rally, PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif said that the people are currently passing through the worst condition due to inflation.
