On Monday, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed another sharp sell-off as panic-driven liquidation swept through the market. Investor sentiment was rattled by rising geopolitical tensions, uncertainty ahead of the upcoming IMF review, and cautious expectations surrounding the ongoing corporate earnings season.

As a result, the benchmark KSE-100 Index settled at 167,691.08 points, down 5,478.63 points, or 3.16%.

Meanwhile, data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) revealed that the central bank purchased $11.38 billion from domestic foreign exchange (FX) markets between June 2024 and November 2025. The SBP discloses its foreign exchange market interventions with a three-month lag.

According to the central bank, net FX intervention refers to outright and swap purchases of foreign exchange minus outright and swap sales conducted by the SBP with banks in the interbank foreign exchange market.
