Security forces have foiled coordinated terrorist attacks at 12 locations across Balochistan, killing at least 58 militants during counter-operations.
Ten personnel from the police and security forces were martyred in the clashes.
According to security sources, militants linked to Fitna-e-Hindustan launched cowardly attacks at multiple locations late last night. All attempts were successfully repelled by security forces and other law-enforcement agencies.
Initial reports confirmed the killing of 37 militants, with the number later rising to 58 following continued operations.
Security officials said that police and security personnel fought bravely, laying down their lives while confronting the attackers. Pursuit operations against fleeing militants are still under way, and further losses to the militants are expected.
Sources added that in the previous 48 hours, law-enforcement agencies had eliminated 41 militants in separate operations.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the successful operations, stating that brave personnel had neutralised 37 terrorists and thwarted their malicious designs.
He paid tribute to the forces for their courage and sacrifice. Subsequent updates confirmed that the number of militants killed had increased to 58, while follow-up operations and aerial surveillance continue.
