The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered a record 3,442 companies in January, up by 39 percent from the previous month. It was reported on Sunday.
A majority of firms, totaling 652, have been registered in the commerce and IT sectors, while 463 have been registered in the trade and 411 in the services sector.
Similarly, 311 companies have been registered in the real estate and construction sector, 242 in the tourism and transport sector, 158 in the food and drinks sector, and 233 in the pharmaceutical sector.
Likewise, 81 companies have been registered in the fuel and energy sector, 124 in the education sector, 119 in the mining, 86 in the advertising and marketing sector, 79 in the textile sector, and 73 in the agriculture sector. Other sectors are auto, power generation, sports and tobacco.
It should be noted that Pakistan’s economy has started taking off due to the difficult decisions taken by the current government and it is hoped that this year the country economy will further improve.
