Donald Trump’s special envoy Richard Grenell has apparently deleted all but one of his tweets calling for the release of PII founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
His famous tweets are not available on Richard Grenell’s X timeline and a debate has started on social media in Pakistan.
The deletion of the tweets was first brought to the attention of journalist Wajahat S Khan, who is considered close to PTI and is currently out of Pakistan.
Sharing a tweet of Richard Grenell on the social media platform ‘X’, Wajahat wrote, ‘This is the only tweet of Richard Grenell about the release of Imran Khan is still on record, the rest has been deleted.
Wajahat mentioned Richard Grenell’s tweet in response to a statement issued by the US State Department on December 24, 2024.
“The United States is concerned about the sentencing of Pakistani civilians to military tribunals and calls on Pakistani authorities to respect their right to a fair trial and due process,” “the statement said.”
“To which Richard Grenell replied,” “You’re late and it’s too little and too weak.” “He also demanded the release of Imran Khan. “Arslan Baloch, who is associated with the PTI’s social media wing, said in a tweet on December 24 that” “Richard Grenell has recently made 54 posts and posts related to Imran Khan or Pakistan.”
“These posts have received more than 56.5 million views, 1.2 million likes, 525,000 reposts, and 130,000 replies. Grinnell mentioned or engaged with 25 people in these posts, including two posts by Imran Khan.
His most popular post received 12.1 million views. The reason why Richard Grenell deleted tweets related to Imran Khan was not immediately revealed. However, a few days ago, Grenell was seen with Trump.
