The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Friday predicted rainfall in Karachi and other parts of Sindh tomorrow, coinciding with the first day of Eidul Fitr.
In its daily forecast, the PMD said that a westerly wave was “continuously affecting” much of the country. It warned that Karachi Division and several Sindh districts were likely to experience “rain/thunderstorm with strong winds.”
Districts expected to be affected include Larkana, Qambar-Shahdadkot, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Sukkur, Jamshoro, Hyderabad, Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Matiari, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Naushahro Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Dadu.
The PMD’s three-day outlook for Karachi indicated mostly cloudy conditions with possible isolated thunderstorms or rain at the outskirts. Daytime temperatures are expected between 29°C and 31°C, while night temperatures may drop to 17–19°C. Morning humidity could reach 80–90%, decreasing to 50–60% by evening.
On Sunday, March 22, the city may see partly cloudy weather, with temperatures ranging from 31–33°C in the morning to 20–22°C at night.
Earlier this week, a thunderstorm in Karachi on Wednesday caused 20 deaths and left eight people injured.
