Punjab’s Minister for Sports and Energy, Faisal Ayub Khokhar, has issued a strong response to recent remarks by national cricketer Naseem Shah, stating that while performance is important, players must also maintain discipline in their language and conduct.
He warned that if Naseem Shah fails to improve his behaviour, he could be dropped from the team.
The minister added that freedom of expression does not permit the use of inappropriate language against the country’s top leadership.
According to Faisal Ayub Khokhar, the Rs20 million fine imposed on the cricketer is insufficient, and he would have taken stricter action if he had been overseeing the matter.
He further noted that Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, had shown restraint in handling the situation.
