HARIPUR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf local leader Tahir Iqbal shot dead by unknown assailants in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa’s Haripur district today (Sunday).
According to details, unknown assailants opened fire at PTI Hazara captor’s deputy general secretary Tahir Iqbal. The suspects escaped from the site after killing the PTI leader.
Meanwhile, the district police and rescue officials rushed to the scene and shifted the body to the Haripur’s government hospital for medico-legal formalities. The police have registered a case and launched investigations into the murder.
Earlier in 2019, unidentified armed men opened fire at a former office-bearer of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Karachi chapter outside a mosque in the Ayesha Manzil area, resulting in his death. The police, citing preliminary investigations, had said it appeared to be an incident of a targeted killing.
