This came just three weeks after FIA raided the residence of Senator Saifullah Niazi and allegedly seized some gadgets including his laptop and phone. Government sources had alleged that a website by the name Namanzoor Dot Com (raising party funds to launch agitation against the present government) was being operated by Senator Saifullah Niazi.
In Lahore, reports gathered by MM News suggested that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested founding member of Tehreek-e-Insaf Hamid Zaman. The FIA said that Hamid Zaman was arrested from his office on Waris Road.
Just this morning, an FIA team raided the residence of Tariq Shafi, a prominent PTI official in a case of illegally transferring funds from abroad to Pakistan.
Denouncing the arrests, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry turned to Twitter and called the act as biggest ever fascism, and an insult of the institution of Parliament. He urged upon the Chairman Senate to take notice of the incident.
