ISLAMABAD: On International Girls in ICT Day, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) signed a landmark collaboration agreement with ConnectHear to champion accessibility and digital inclusion for women and girls with hearing impairments.

Chairman PTA, Maj. Gen. (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman HI (M), SI, underscored that accessible telecom services are essential for building an inclusive and equitable society. ConnectHear’s Founding Member, Ms. Zehra Dhanjee, echoed the sentiment, stressing that inclusivity must be embedded at the heart of digital service design and delivery.

To mark the occasion, PTA and ConnectHear jointly released sign language awareness videos highlighting online safety and SIM registration under women’s CNICs. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to bridging accessibility gaps and ensuring equal digital opportunities for persons with disabilities across the ICT sector.
