ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed bullish trend on Tuesday and closed the trading session with minor gains.
The benchmark KSE 100-index gaining 26.03 points, with a positive change of 0.06 percent, closing at 43,928.08 points. The total volume of share was 52.688 million.
The bourse witnessed an upward trend in opening hours and reached to briefly regain the 44,000 points level and reached the highest level of 44,289.83 points. The bourse eventually lost gains and closed on a positive note before trading was suspended.
The lower bench KSE-30 index also gained 16.55 points (0.10%) and closed at 16,753.26 points. The total volume of shares was 35.981 million. The KMI 30 index declined by 32.03 points (-0.05%) and closed at 70,731.40 points, while the All Share Index nudged by 12.56 points (0.04%) and closed at 30,141.90 points. The total volume of share traded were 115.533 million at the stock market.
The highest number of shares traded belonged to Telecard Ltd (TELE 2.53%) which traded 12.908 million shares. This was followed by TLP Properties Ltd (TPLP -1.97%), Engro Polymer & Chemicals Ltd (7.49%) and Ghani Global Holdings Ltd (-1.37%). The number of scrips traded were 6.707 million, 6.522 million, and 6.037 million, respectively.
As many as 302 companies transacted shares in the stock market, 154 of them recorded gain and 125 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 23 companies remained unchanged.
Blessed Tex witnessed a maximum increase of Rs34.50 per share, closing at Rs494.51 whereas the runner up was Siemens Pak, the share prices of which climbed up by Rs26.97 to Rs622. Sapphire Fiber witnessed maximum decrease of Rs62 closing at Rs768 followed by Service Ind. Ltd, the share price of which declined by Rs23.77 to close at Rs423.25.
