The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed positive momentum in early trade on Tuesday as the benchmark KSE-100 Index surged over 400 points.
At 12:00pm, the benchmark index was trading at 171,621.77, up 417.60 points or 0.24%.
Buying interest was observed in key sectors, including automobile assemblers, commercial banks, fertiliser, oil and gas exploration companies, OMCs and refinery. Index-heavy stocks, including MARI, OGDC, PSO, HASCOL, HBL, MEBL and NBP, traded in the green.
On Monday, the PSX faced sustained selling pressure as the start of the roll-over week weighed on investor sentiment, leading to a volatile but largely bearish session. The benchmark KSE-100 Index declined by 200.31 points, or 0.12%, to close at 171,204.18 points.
Separately, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is set to be auctioned, with three consortia submitting sealed bids for a controlling stake in the national flag carrier. The authorised representative of the Lucky consortium submitted its bid first, followed by representatives of the Air Blue–Arif Habib Limited consortium.
