On Tuesday, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) extended its corrective trend, with both benchmark and sectoral indices ending in negative territory amid a volatile trading session characterized by sharp intraday fluctuations, heavy volumes, and a continued decline in overall market capitalization.

The benchmark KSE-100 Index closed at 166,258.55 points, shedding 1,432.54 points, or 0.85%.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb emphasized the importance of enhanced federal oversight and improved coordination with provincial governments to ensure the effective execution of structural reforms.

His remarks came as the World Bank reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Pakistan’s reform agenda under the Country Partnership Framework (CPF).
