Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman is set to wear Lahore Qalandars’ shirt in upcoming 11th edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) as the Lahore franchise announced Rs60 million signing on Thursday.
Mustafizur registered for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in early January after being released by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The 30-year-old left-arm fast bowler, renowned for his clever variations and effectiveness at the death, had been bought by KKR for INR 9.20 crore at the IPL mini-auction in December. He was the only Bangladeshi cricketer picked for the season.
Fizzzzzz 💚
Our Bangladeshi brother, @Mustafiz90, picked in 2016 and 2018, is now our direct signing and finally back with the family. Once a Qalandar, always a Qalandar. 🫂

KKR later confirmed his release, citing directives from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The move came against the backdrop of strained diplomatic relations between India and Bangladesh, following reports of attacks on minority communities in Bangladesh.
Subsequently, Bangladesh halted IPL broadcasts domestically, and the Bangladesh Cricket Board urged the International Cricket Council (ICC) to relocate its T20 World Cup matches from India to Sri Lanka. The ICC declined the request and instead replaced Bangladesh with Scotland in the expanded 20-team tournament.
A regular in the IPL since 2016, Mustafizur has taken more than 60 wickets in the competition and has also previously represented Lahore Qalandars in the PSL.
