Police initiate workshop services in Karachi amid COVID-19 lockdown

KARACHI: The police have started workshop services for the citizens of Karachi during the lockdown imposed in the city due to coronavirus.
The services include vehicles’ tyre repairing and engine issues. As per details, people can contact the police helpline and seek help if their motorcycle or the car breaks down while travelling. The nearby technical staff of the police will assist the person who complained.
According to the police officials, those citizens who left the homes for important work will be able to get benefit from this service. Those who roam around unnecessarily will not be entertained, the police maintained.
The special service to assist the citizens of Karachi has initiated because of the lockdown being imposed in the city. Despite the partial lockdown, some people leave home for work and during their travelling period, if they face any automatic issues, they can be assisted by nearby policemen.
A lockdown has been imposed in the province since last month as the local transmission of the novel coronavirus has increased in Sindh. Provisional Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah had also hinted at an extension of lockdown in the province by a week beyond 14th April.
The areas, which had remained under lockdown, include big shopping malls, parks, playgrounds, restaurants, seaside, and public and private transport while educational institutions are already closed till May.
