ISLAMABAD: The visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Turkey, scheduled for today (Wednesday) has been postponed for, what has been reported as, bad weather and ongoing relief and rescue operations.

According to multiple media reports, PM Shehbaz Sharif was scheduled to leave for Turkey this morning but the visit was postponed due to Turkish leadership’s engagements related to the ongoing rehabilitation efforts.
It has also been reported that PM Shehbaz would not be able to visit the affected areas as helicopter could not fly during bad weather, while the president and vice president of Turkiye were also engaged in relief activities.

Earlier on Tuesday, Federal Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb had announced postponement of All Parties Conference (APC) citing prime minister’s sudden plan to visit Ankara to express solidarity with the people of Turkey and convey his condolences to Turkish President Erdogan over the losses caused by the earthquake.
