KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain in Sindh and Balochistan from Friday to Monday.
According to the PMD, rainfall of 70 to 80 mm is forecast in Karachi. a thunderstorm is expected in different cities of Sindh including Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Dadu, and Mirpur Khas. The new series of rains could last up to three days.
The meteorological department said that the rain is likely to pour in Karachi, Hyderabad, and Thatta. The PMD added that Badin, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Umerkot, Sanghar, Sukkur, Larkana, Lasbela and Khuzdar are also likely to receive rains. National rainfall is also forecast in Barkhan, Zhob, Musa Khel, Loralai, Kohlu, and Sibi.
In this regard, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority has sent a formal letter to all the Deputy Commissioners of Sindh and asked them to take all necessary steps before the rain.
Rain is also expected in South Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and North Eastern Balochistan today. Rain is expected at some places in Islamabad, North-East Punjab, Sindh, and Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Multan, Layyah, Bhakkar, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, DG Khan, Rajanpur, Faisalabad, Lahore, Sahiwal, Sialkot, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Jhang, and Narwal are likely to receive showers at some places.
The meteorological department has forecast rain at Kohat, Bannu, Karam, Dera Ismail Khan, and Karak Dir, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Swat, Chitral, Kohistan, Buner, Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda and Nowshera.
