ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will chair the federal cabinet meeting today during which important decisions will be taken.
According to the details, the prime minister will preside over the federal cabinet meeting on the 5-point agenda on Thursday. The time of the meeting has been fixed at 11 o’clock today in which all federal ministers will participate.
The report on power breakdown will be examined in the meeting presided over by the prime minister. Power division officials will brief the cabinet members on power line losses and theft. There will also be a briefing on the energy-saving plan.
In the 5-point agenda of the federal cabinet meeting, there will be a consultation on the Supreme Court’s decision on the self-notice case on the election in the provincial assemblies. After the official time, a proposal will be made to double the price of electricity in commercial areas.

The National Clean Air Policy of the Ministry of Climate Change is also included in the agenda of the federal cabinet meeting. The decisions of the Cabinet Committee on Legislative Cases will be ratified. A bill for the establishment of the National University of Pakistan will be presented.
It should be noted that earlier the Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered the Election Commission to hold the election in 90 days. Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial also made important remarks during the hearing of the self-notice case.
