ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has urged the people of Pakistan to be careful and follow precautionary measures on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha to contain the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
The statement came while chairing a meeting of government spokespersons in Islamabad today (Monday). The Prime Minister took the spokespersons into confidence on important national issues
During the meeting, PM Imran further instructed the government spokespersons to strictly monitor their relevant performance of their relevant ministries.
The meeting also considered the prospective APC of the opposition while discussing the political situation in the country. The meeting also discussed the government’s strategy regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the occasion, the premier said that the world was appreciating the successful strategy of the PTI-led federal government. “Positive results of smart lockdown are coming to light but people have to be careful on Eid-ul-Azha,” he remarked.
Earlier, the federal government had decided to give only three holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha in wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. “The government has decided not to grant additional holidays to the public to prevent unnecessary travel, a statement informed.
