ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has wished for the swift recovery of Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz who was earlier admitted to a hospital.
Saudi Arabia’s 84-year-old ruler, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, has been admitted to hospital in the capital Riyadh, suffering from inflammation of the gall bladder.
King Salman, the custodian of Islam’s holiest sites, spent more than 2.5 years as the Saudi crown prince and deputy premier from June 2012 before becoming king. He also served as governor of the Riyadh region for more than 50 years.
On a social media website Twitter, the PM expressed his concern on the hospitalization of the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The PM prayed for the quick recovery of the king.
“The government and people of Pakistan, and I myself, join our Saudi brethren in prayers for His Majesty’s swift recovery, good health and long life. Ameen,” he added.

PML-N chief and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif said he was “deeply concerned” about the king’s health.
“The people and the leadership of Saudi Arabia have a special place in our hearts. I pray for his speedy recovery and complete health!” he tweeted.
