ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will give a future course of action to the Tiger Force and decide the roadmap of new responsibilities for them at a ceremony today in the federal capital.

Addressing the media, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Youth Affairs Usman Dar said the prime minister will inaugurate the Tiger Force portal.

He said the Tiger Force is working as a facilitator to fill the human resource gap in administration and so far 172,000 volunteers from across Pakistan have registered with the platform.

Usman Dar said development of youth is top priority of the prime minister. He said the portal provide an opportunity to the youth to play its role in price control of essential items and improving governance. He said the development of youth is the top priority of the Prime Minister.

Preparations were underway for the Tiger Force convention in Islamabad. Several places of the federal capital have been decorated with the welcome banners, while large screens are being installed at the Convention Centre.

Earlier on Friday, Usman Dar called on Prime Minister Imran Khan to discuss arrangements regarding the convention. PM Imran Khan directed him to ensure strict implementation of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Last week, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday tasked one million-strong Corona Relief Tiger Force (CRTF) of volunteers with checking prices of food items and posting them on their portal.

The announcement to use the CRTF for price monitoring has created a controversy as the opposition and legal experts have already been questioning the working of the volunteers without having any legal cover.

The prime minister’s expressed his resolve to use all available resources of the state to bring down food prices and take the services of the idle volunteer force.
