KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced to further reduce the fare for domestic flights on Friday.
According to PIA spokesperson, the fares have been reduced by the national carrier for flights from Karachi to Islamabad and Lahore.
The airline fixed Rs 7, 879 for a one-way ticket from Karachi to Islamabad and Lahore, whereas, Rs8, 543 will be charged for one passenger who is carrying cargo weighing up to 35 kilograms.
PIA operates four flights in a day to Islamabad and two to Lahore said the spokesperson, adding the new fares will be effective for an indefinite period.
Earlier, PIA had reduced its domestic fares on the occasion of the Independence Day. The PIA spokesman had announced a 14 percent cut on fares of domestic PIA flights to Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
The relief will remain in place from 7-14 August. The PIA also announced to resume its flight operations for Multan, Sukkur, and Gwadar on Independence Day.
On July 7, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had announced to further reduce the fare for domestic flights. A spokesman for the PIA said there had been a historic reduction in domestic fares.
According to the spokesperson, the one-way fare from Karachi to Islamabad and from Karachi to Lahore has been fixed at Rs 9,572 while passengers will also be permitted to carry 7 kg of hand luggage.
The discounted fares would be effective immediately, the spokesperson added. This is the second such announcement as only Last week, the officials of the PIA, announced a reduction of fares for domestic flights.
According to a notification, Rs 12, 000 has been fixed for one-way ticket inclusive of all taxes for different destinations including Islamabad and other cities.
