Pakistan to play against Sri Lanka today in Karachi
KARACHI: Pakistan will play against Sri Lanka today the three-match ODI series for the first time in 10 years in National Stadium.
The match will begin at 3 pm local time. It will be the first time that Pakistan would host Sri Lanka for an ODI series since January 2009.
Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed thanked the Sri Lankan team for the tour by saying, “History will be made on Friday when Karachi hosts the first ODI.”
Sri Lanka will play three ODIs and three T20s in Karachi and Lahore respectively.
The visiting team has been given the highest security measures possible, with over 2000 security personnel, including Rangers, deployed at the team hotel, stadium, and routes.

Earlier on Wednesday, Sri Lanka’s national cricket team arrived in Pakistan to play for the matches between the two countries.
The three ODI matches will be played in Karachi. They will then travel to Lahore to play the same number of T20I fixtures. The visiting team was given a warm welcome upon their arrival.
The citizens will be advised to plan their movements accordingly and stay updated via local news mediums.
Sri Lanka’s tour of Pakistan is part of an ongoing effort to revive international cricket in Pakistan since a terrorist attack on a bus carrying Sri Lankan players in 2009 made it difficult for the country to host international sides.
