ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reported one death in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of confirmed positive cases has surged to 1,540,080. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 30,404 on Wednesday.
According to the latest figures by the National Institute of Health (NIH), at least 805 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 across the country in the past 24 hours.
Pakistan has conducted 17,150 tests in the past 24 hours out of which 805 persons were tested positive for the disease. The COVID Positivity Ratio was recorded at 4.69 percent.

On the other hand, the NCOC has directed to hold prayer gatherings in open spaces instead of mosques on Eid-ul-Azha.
According to details, the National Command and Operations Center has issued guidelines for Eid-ul-Azha across the country. The new NCOC guidelines state that it is important to take precautions to prevent coronavirus. Therefore, after one gathering of Eid prayers, two or three gatherings should be held in the same mosque to reduce the rush.
The new guidelines introduced by the NCOC also call on the Ulema to keep the Eid prayer sermons short. The NCOC appealed to the scholars to urge the people to use masks and sanitizers and to advise them not to attend the prayer gatherings in case of any symptoms like a coronavirus.
