KARACHI: The city administration failed in draining yesterday’s rainwater from the roads, roads, streets and residential areas as they began to look like a pond. There were clear orders of Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab to clear the roads and streets.
According to details, Sindh government spokesman, Sindh legal adviser and Karachi administrator Murtaza Wahab visited various areas of Karachi last night including MA Jinnah Road and KMC head office.
It should be noted that due to heavy rains in different areas, water stagnated on the roads. Citizens are facing difficulties in getting around, especially due to the accumulation of water at bus stops in Landhi, Korangi, Defense and Qayyumabad.
During the visit of the spokesperson of the Sindh government, the staff of KMC and other concerned departments appeared active on the streets. Administrator Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab directed the staff of the city administration to drain the rainwater from the low lying areas.
While briefing, the officials informed that water pumping machines have been installed around the KMC head office. But the administration has miserably failed in clear majority of the raods of the city after heavy rain.
