To promote tourism in the province, the Sindh Department of Culture and Tourism has announced the launch of the “Thar Desert Train Safari,” set to commence operations in the second week of February.
The initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance tourism in Sindh through new attractions and the promotion of local festivals.
Provincial Minister for Culture and Tourism Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah revealed that the train will operate from Karachi to Khokhrapar, with stops in Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, and Chhor. The journey will offer passengers a unique experience of Sindh’s vibrant culture and stunning desert landscapes.

Shah also revealed plans for additional tourism initiatives, including a jeep rally in Tharparkar and the two-day Lahooti Festival in Larkana, starting on February 15, in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism.
Last May, the Sindh government had launched new bus and train services to promote culture and tourism in the province.
The train service runs from Karachi to Parche-Ji-Veri, passing through Hyderabad. Parche-Ji-Veri is known for its stunning sunset views. The train will depart from Karachi every Saturday and return on Sunday.
