MULTAN: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi today (Sunday) lashed out at Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), saying that these opposition leaders were only striving to save their corruption.
“The 11-party alliance is risking the lives of people of Pakistan by holding public rallies amid the increasing number of COVID-19 infections,” the foreign minister said while addressing a press conference in Multan.
Terming the 11-party alliance ‘unnatural’, FM Qureshi asserted that nobody has stopped the opposition from resignations from the assemblies. He bashed the dual standards of the opposition parties on the COVID-19. “On one hand the PPP government is imposing smart lockdown in Sindh and on the other side carrying out public rallies.”
Commenting on the COVID-19 situation, FM Qureshi feared that the circumstances could worsen in the country in the coming month of January. He urged the masses to ensure the implementation of the SOPs to contain the outbreak of the deadly virus.
The foreign minister also urged the religious scholars and media outlets to come forward to create awareness among the masses. Referring to India, Shah Mehmood Qureshi reiterated that Pakistan has provided irrefutable evidence of Indian state-sponsored terrorism to the United Nations.
“India has become a terrorist state which has been taking unjustified measures against minorities’ particularly Muslim population in the country,” he said, adding that voices against Kashmir policy were being raised within India now.
