ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has revealed that the federal government has recently launched operations to check smuggling of foreign currency and other commodities, and during the last twenty four hours, customs department arrested a person in Chaman border who was trying to smuggle one hundred thousand dollars out of the country.

Addressing a ceremony at Pakistan Prosperity Forum in Islamabad on Wednesday, Ishaq Dar criticized the policies of PTI-led government, alleging that there was an unbearable increase in the country’s debt during its tenure. He said his government was making efforts to revive the economy.

” The government is trying to improve economy but we are confronting difficulties in the continuity of policies,” he said, adding that politics should be kept away from economy. He further said that the government was trying to increase country’s exports.
