LAHORE: A 2-members team of Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) arrived here on Sunday to advertise the commencement of this year’s Asian Games being held in Hangzhou, China. The 19th Asian Games were scheduled to be held in 2022 but were postponed due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The team was warmly welcomed by Pakistan Olympic Council (POC) as they arrived at Lahore Airport earlier today. Vice President of POC Syed M Abidqadri, General Secretary Khalid Mahmod and other officials greeted the OCA team.

According to Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) secretary Khalid Mahmood, the OCA team will hold some build-up events in Lahore on Feb 20 (Monday) for which a special delegation of the organising committee of the Sept 23-Oct 8 Asian Games would also be in Lahore to hold the event.
He said one-, two-, three- and five-kilometre races would be held in which men, women, students and families would be allowed to take part.
He further said the exhibition competitions in six different disciplines would also be staged on Feb 20 at the DHA Sports Complex.
