Power Distribution Companies (DISCOs) have introduced a revised electricity bill format as part of the Ministry of Energy’s consumer-focused reform agenda aimed at improving transparency and ease of understanding for users.
According to a spokesperson for the Power Division, the new bill design clearly highlights the total payable amount, payment due date, and electricity consumption details, enabling consumers to quickly access essential billing information at a glance.
Officials said the previous bill format had received complaints from consumers due to excessive technical details, repetitive content, and unnecessary information that made it difficult to understand key charges.
In response to public feedback, the billing structure has been redesigned to reduce complexity and improve clarity.
The Power Division stated that the updated format ensures all important details are now presented in a more organized and user-friendly manner.
The redesign reflects the government’s broader commitment to transparency, improved service delivery, and consumer convenience in the power sector.
