LAHORE: Provincial Information Minister Fayyazul Hasan Chohan has claimed that almost 80 percent of Twitter followers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-President were ‘fake’.
In a statement on Sunday night, the provincial minister said that Maryam Nawaz has surpassed everyone even in Twitter rigging. “While it is not surprising that many followers of her Twitter account are fake, it is astonishing that the number approaches 80%,” he claimed
Fayyazul Hasan Chohan further said that out of approximately 5.5 million total followers, 5.19 have not liked a single tweet by Maryam. “Almost 2.37 followers are dead accounts,” he added.
He also termed Maryam Nawaz a ‘Calibri queen’, referring to her Calibri font scandal, saying that 1,898 followers had created their Twitter accounts on the same day.
Casting further aspersions on her followers, he said that one million followers have no followers of their own. “Pakistanis are well aware of Calibri queen Begum Safdar Awan’s clever schemes,” he added.
PML-N’s Uzma Bukhari responded to the claims and said that the citizens were crying over rising inflation and all the minister can bother with is Maryam Nawaz’s Twitter account.
