Set and Upsets

Sometimes Mian Nawaz Sharif tries to captivate hearts by talking well. Recently, in a video-link statement, Nawaz Sharif said, “We have come out of the slavery of the colonisers only to be enslaved by our own. We are not free citizens; ask yourself if you are a free citizen.”

“The time is not far away when all these things will have to be accounted for. If the nation also decides that it has to take a stand against tyrants and oppressors, then the real change will come in a few months and weeks, not years.” Nawaz Sharif also said that he was proud of his brother for facing the current situation with courage and not bowing down despite severe hardships.

Meanwhile, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the Islamabad High Court, while expressing anger over former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, said that the accused went to London by betraying the government and the people.

He must be laughing at the system while sitting abroad. It’s shameful conduct by the accused,” the judge said. He observed that in the future the federal government should consider how to let someone go abroad and at how much cost. The bench member also remarked, “We are wasting time here for procuring his attendance when thousands of cases are pending”.

Some acquaintances have commented on the fact that this rhetoric of Nawaz Sharif is in fact a way of asking for an NRO. When his affairs with institutions will settle, his current rhetoric will be tainted, and the supporters, who are chanting slogans in unison with the voice of Mian Nawaz Sharif, will get a huge shock.

If a politician became sure that he will not get a deal or slack, then the accent of such politicians change. The rulers do not pay full attention to all these things, claims, and promises when they are enjoying power, and the funny thing is that as soon as they lose power, they also remember the honor of the vote.

They also seem to be worried that the people are being pushed into the mill of inflation, the load shedding has hurt the country’s economy, and the taxes have made the people’s lives miserable. Such problems can also be solved when they are in power, but they do not. Politicians lie so shamelessly, arrogantly, and cunningly that naive people believe them and then fall into their clutches.

History is in front of everyone. Every politician in Pakistan has become a ruler with the blessings of the military. This is the truth that no one can deny even if he wants to. Then what does it mean to show oneself as an honest person?

And when upsets of the politicians became sets, then they start telling stories of the purity of those who were once abused by them. This drama should be stopped. Chants for democracy don’t suit those who hold secret meetings.

Democratic attitude and democratic system can never flourish without eliminating the contradiction of words and deeds. And the truth is that this serious joke with democracy does not stop unless these parties set up their own democracy. Because democracy is not the name of hereditary politics.
