Mujtaba Piracha becomes Pakistan’s ambassador to WTO

GENEVA: Dr. Muhammad Mujtaba Piracha has been appointed as a Pakistani ambassador to the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
A notification stated: “Prime Minister Imran Khan has seen and is pleased to approve the nomination of Dr. Muhammad Mujtaba Piracha, merit No 1 of the panel finalised.”
Muhammad Mujtaba Piracha is a 21st Grade officer from the Pakistan Administrative Service. He completed his Ph.D. from the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom and a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics.
Previously, Piracha served in Balochistan for five years and then in the finance and planning department in Punjab. He will now be Pakistan’s permanent representative in Geneva.
