KARACHI: A motorcyclist was crushed to death by a dumper- truck near Shah Faisal Colony area of the metropolis on Friday.
According to rescue sources and police, a 30-year-old unknown motorcyclist was hit by a fast-moving dumper truck near Shah Faisal Colony area. As a result, he sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.
Police said after the accident the driver of the vehicle fled away from the scene while raids are being conducted for culprit arrest, police said. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for medico-legal formalities.
Meanwhile, the angry mob and local people of the area recorded their protest against the incident by blocking the road. The people also set the dumper on fire. Police reached the spot and control the situation while started a search for the arrest of the dumper’s driver.
on November 24, in another tragedy of road accident of similar in nature, a minor child died and seven others suffered serious injuries as dumper overturned in Karachi’s Drigh Road underpass.

Rescue sources said the truck was heading towards Airport from Rashid Minhas road and overturned in a Drigh Road underpass due to over speeding, resulting in the death of a two-year-old boy, who was on a motorcycle with his father.
The injured people were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medical treatment. Later, heavy machinery was called which removed the dumper truck from the underpass.
