GUJRANWALA: More than 300 cloth stalls were burnt to ashes as a result of huge blaze that engulfed a large area in Shiranwala Bagh. Caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi has asked Commissioner Gujranwala to submit report about the incident.
Officials said the fire at Landa Bazar near Shiranwala Bagh in Gujranwala has been brought under control, and the cooling process was underway.
According to the sources, more than 300 clothes stalls were burnt to ashes and 8 rescue vehicles took part in the process of extinguishing the fire, which was brought under control after two hours of effort.
Due to heavy smoke and narrow space, it was difficult to put out the fire, but now the cooling process is going on in the affected area.
According to the rescue officials, the fire that broke out in Linda Bazaar engulfed about three hundred stalls of the market covering an area of 8 kanals.
Officials further said that the cause of the fire in the market is yet to be known.
