KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan surged on Monday, mirroring the global uptrend as the yellow mettle price per tola soared to Rs250,400, marking a hefty gain of Rs2,300 within a single day.
According to data provided by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the 10-gram gold rate reached Rs214,678 following an increase of Rs1,972.
The international gold rate experienced an uptick on Monday, reaching $2,439 per ounce, with a $20 premium, after a $25 rise throughout the day, as reported by APGJSA.

Contrarily, silver rates remained stable at Rs2,850 per tola. Notably, last month, gold reached its peak at Rs252,200 per tola in the local market. On the preceding Saturday, gold prices had surged by Rs3,100 per tola.
In monetary news, the Pakistani rupee saw a slight decline against the US dollar, depreciating by 0.03% in the inter-bank market on Monday. Closing at 278.30, the local unit experienced a loss of Re0.09 against the greenback, as confirmed by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
