Moeed Yusuf rebuts news of his dual nationality

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Security Dr Moeed Yusuf has rebutted the claim of being dual national after the cabinet division issued details of assets and dual nationalities of the prime minister’s advisers and special assistants.
On a social media website Twitter today, Moeed said: “Contrary to the canard being spread about me, I only hold citizenship of ONE country and that is Pakistan.”
He also shared the undertaking.  he said that he had previously submitted to the government, which reads: “I [Dr Moeed Yusuf] am a Pakistani citizen by birth and that I do not hold, and have never held citizenship of any other country.”

“I have not returned to the US since I took up my current responsibility, have no employment or income in the US. Nor do I have any millions of worth properties abroad as is being insinuated. I or my family has NO fixed property anywhere but Pakistan. Stop spreading lies,” he added.

According to details, the government had issued asset details of 15 advisors and special assistants in the federal cabinet. It had been revealed that five of the advisors and special assistants of the cabinet possess dual nationality while two of them are green cardholders.
Those who hold dual nationalities include SAPM on Political Affairs Shahbaz Gill (US), SAPM on Petroleum Nadeem Babar (US), SAPM on Overseas Pakistanis Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari (UK), Moeed Yousuf (US), SAPM on Power Division Shahzad Qasim (US), SAPM on Parlia­mentary Coordination Nadeem Afzal Gondal (Canada) and SAPM on Digital Pakistan Tania S. Andrus (Canada and Singapore).
