LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday will hear a bail plea of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shahbaz in the Ramzan Sugar Mills case.
A two-member bench of LHC headed by Justice Baqir Najfi will conduct the case. Strict security measures have been taken outside the Judicial Complex to prevent any inauspicious incident.
On December 11, an accountability court allowed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to probe Hamza Shehbaz in the money laundering case. He would be probed about Benami companies case as well.

Hamza Shahbaz was arrested by NAB Lahore on June 11 in Ramzan Sugar Mills, and money laundering and assets beyond means case the LHC had turned down his applications for extension in interim bail.
In February, the NAB filed a reference against Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz, claiming the former chief minister Punjab misused his authority and got constructed a 10-km sludge carrier in district Chiniot to facilitate Ramzan Sugar Mills, owned by his sons. The bureau alleged that the step inflicted a loss of Rs. 213 million to the national funds.
