Mentally-challenged youth tortured while filming Tik Tok video

OKARA: Two men brutally tortured a mentally-challenged man dragging him through a motorcycle while filming a Tik Tok video.

A video of the harrowing incident went viral on social media prompting police to take notice. The incident occurred in the rural area of Sheernagar near Shah Muqeem in district Okara.

The men identified as Farhat Abbas and Ali Hasan brutally tortured a mentally-challenged man, tying him with a rope and dragging him through a muddy road behind a motorcycle.

The men then attempted to drown the youth in a nearby stream and continued filming. He pleaded to release him but the two men refused to show mercy and continued torturing him. Police have taken notice of the incident and District Police Officer (DPO) Okara has called for their immediate arrest.

The video-sharing platform has gained immense popularity in Pakistan but has been responsible for several untoward incidents.

Earlier on August 30, a teenage boy accidentally injured himself in the Firdous Market area of the Lahore while shooting a TikTok video.

The incident occurred when a teenager named Hamza fell from his rooftop while filming a Tik Tok video suffering severe wounds and was shifted to a hospital in a critical condition.

In another incident, an 18-year-old boy in Bahawalpur lost his life while filming a video for the app. The teenager named Noman drowned in a Narowal canal while filming a video.

On 21st June, a teenage boy had shot himself dead while making a video for TikTok in Karachi. In April, a 22-year-old man died after being hit by a train while shooting a video at the Jumma Goth railway station in Cattle Colony in Karachi.
