Media tycoon Rupert Murdoch set to marry for 5th time at 92

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch is defying age when it comes to matters of the heart. On Thursday, Murdoch announced his upcoming wedding to girlfriend Elena Zhukova, scheduled for June, as reported by The New York Times.

Known for his eventful personal life, often splashed across tabloid headlines, Murdoch’s recent engagement to dental hygienist-turned-conservative radio host Ann Lesley Smith was called off last year, less than a month after its announcement.

Zhukova, a retired molecular biologist who immigrated from Russia, is 67 years old, a quarter-century younger than the 92-year-old Murdoch, according to The Times. Her daughter, Dasha Zhukova, a notable arts patron and entrepreneur, was previously married to Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich.

The upcoming wedding is slated to take place at Murdoch’s California vineyard and estate, Moraga. Murdoch’s most recent marriage was to model Jerry Hall, the former longtime partner of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger.

Murdoch, a father of six, has a history of marriages, beginning with Patricia Booker, an Australian flight attendant, in the late 1960s. His second marriage to newspaper reporter Anna Torv lasted over 30 years before ending in divorce in 1999, and his third marriage to Wendi Deng concluded in 2013.

With a media empire that includes The Wall Street Journal, Fox News, and other influential outlets, Murdoch boasts a net worth exceeding $20 billion, according to Forbes. Last November, he passed control of his global media empire to his son Lachlan, assuming an emeritus status.
