According to sources, Maryam Nawaz will reach Sheikhupura at 2:00 pm and meet Javed Latif’s family members and will also hold media talks.
Earlier, the Duty Judicial Magistrate of Model Town Court had extended the physical remand of Mian Javed Latif for two more days in a case pertaining to defaming institutions.
Police produced the PML-N leader, Mian Javed before the court on completion of his previous four-day physical remand for a hearing. During the proceedings, the public prosecutor said that three tests including polygraph have been done and requested that his remand be extended for further investigation.
After hearing the arguments, the court extended the physical remand for two more days. Police took Javed Latif into custody after a session court dismissed his bail in a case pertaining to allegedly defaming state institutions in April.
The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) arrested him near Saggian Pul after the court dismissed his bail plea, according to his lawyer. Earlier, the LHC, while hearing Latif’s plea seeking dismissal of the case, had stressed that no relief will be given to the person who speaks against Pakistan.
Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan reprimanded Javed Latif and said in his remarks that Latif should leave Pakistan and take the nationality of any other country.
