Man held for cheating people in the name of spiritual treatment

ISLAMABAD: A man allegedly involved in ripping off people in the name of spiritual treatment was arrested in Islamabad on Thursday.

As per details, the Cyber Crime Circle (CCC) of Islamabad has apprehended an accused Waqas Aziz, who was allegedly involved in harassing and ripping off people in the name of spiritual treatment.

The CCC took action over a complaint of a woman, who and her family were cheated by the accused and received Rs.1.5 million from them in the name of treatment by black magic. The accused used to contact the people via the online cheating application StreamKar.

The CCC has lodged a case against the accused under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and has started further investigation.
