LAHORE: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the main purpose of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s (PTI) manifesto is to eliminate corruption from the country.
While talking to elected members of PTI from Punjab in Lahore, PM Imran said an organized mafia is presenting a negative image of the government, adding that these are the same elements that have been misleading people to fulfill their nefarious designs.
PM Imran said that for the first time in history, actions were taken against the criminals and the land grabbers were rounded up.
PM Imran assured that the government would not come under any pressure, adding that the government would continue to face every challenge in future.
Referring to economic situation of the country, PM Imran said, “My government inherited the worst economic crisis in the history with biggest current account deficit and fiscal deficit, however, the country’s economy has now stabilised due to the tough decisions taken by the government,” adding that, the world considers Pakistan as an lucrative country for investment.
‘PM Imran met CM Buzdar’
Prime Minister Imran Khan met Chief Minister of Punjab, Usman Buzdar, where he was briefed about the overall situation of the province.
CM Buzdar presented a report to PM Imran, in which he was informed that Rs 187 billion had been released till January 22 under the annual development programme in Punjab.
The report stated that Rs 107 billion has been spent on various projects.
The premier directed CM Buzdar to deal more strictly with the land grabbers and the profiteers and said that such elements should be strictly punished.
