Gulberg Police arrested a gang involved in robberies under the guise of delivering goods to homes in Lahore.
Using advanced technology, the police traced and arrested the two-member robbery gang near Jallo Park. A few days earlier, the suspects had carried out a robbery near Hali Road under the pretext of making a delivery.
The suspects would enter homes in Gulberg and adjoining areas on the pretext of delivering various items, and upon finding an opportunity, would rob residents at gunpoint and flee.
The arrested gang confessed to committing over 13 armed robberies. Police recovered more than Rs. 50,000 in cash, a pistol, and a motorcycle from their possession. A case has been registered against the suspects, Babul Parvez and Danish, and investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, Chuntra Police arrested a gang that looted citizens through a honey trap scheme involving fake marriage proposals.
According to the police, the detained gang members include two women and one man.
The gang would invite individuals under the pretense of arranging a marriage proposal, forcibly record inappropriate videos during the meeting, then blackmail the victims and demand money.
SP Saddar Muhammad Nabeel Khokhar stated that the suspects would be prosecuted in court with solid evidence to ensure appropriate punishment. He emphasized that those who blackmail and rob citizens cannot escape the grip of the law.
