Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with the Public Authority for Manpower and the ministry’s IT sector, has launched a new digital service through which citizens and expatriate residents will be able to access various services related to domestic workers and drivers online. The facility will be provided through the government’s unified application “Sahl.”
According to Kuwaiti media, this initiative is part of a broader strategy to digitize government services. The Ministry of Interior said that the new service aims to simplify the recruitment process, speed up residency-related services, and reduce the need to visit government offices.
Under this system, applicants will be able to complete various services and applications online, which is expected to save time and improve administrative efficiency.

The ministry also issued new regulations regarding the sponsorship of domestic workers and drivers.
According to the new rules, unmarried women will only be allowed to sponsor one domestic worker or housemaid. Married, divorced, or widowed women with children will be eligible to sponsor one domestic worker and one driver.
Similarly, married, divorced, or widowed men who live with their families may sponsor up to three domestic workers and one driver, while unmarried men will only be permitted to sponsor one driver.
The Ministry of Interior said these changes aim to better regulate the use of domestic labor, prevent misuse of services, and promote transparency and improved monitoring in the digital system.
Officials added that the new rules and online services will make government procedures more organized and convenient, while also improving the review and approval process for applications.
