The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government has officially launched registration for a Rs2,000 monthly fuel subsidy for motorcyclists, with applications now open from 6 April.
The ‘Ehsaas Fuel Support Programme’ has been introduced in response to rising inflation and increasing petrol prices, aiming to ease the financial burden on low-income groups.
Launched on the special directives of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, the scheme is designed to support daily commuters and small-scale transport operators.
Under the programme, eligible individuals will receive Rs2,000 per month as fuel assistance. The initiative specifically targets owners of motorcycles, scooters and rickshaws.
To simplify the process, the government has introduced the Dastak App, allowing citizens to apply from home.
According to Special Assistant for Information Shafi Jan, the subsidy will be disbursed through digital wallets to ensure transparency.
He added that the initiative is aimed at providing direct relief to low-income individuals and daily commuters, with further welfare measures also under consideration by the provincial government.
