PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to permit people to make money through social media as the provincial authorities allow Facebook monetization policy.
The development was confirmed by Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Science Technology and Information Technology Ziaullah Bangash.
The minister said Facebook is coming to Pakistan with 3 mega projects including in-stream ads and monetization. Bangash said, “Due to some issues in the country’s policies Facebook is not coming to Pakistan but now they are trying to resolve these issues and have offered Facebook to give proper offices in the province where they will work easily.”
MPA Ziaullah Bangash urged the government to capitalize on the missed opportunity, which is Facebook monetization. He also revealed that the official Speaker of the National Assembly had already met with Facebook officials to discuss the matter.
The new decision should allow people to make money through social media in Pakistan, which would prove to be useful for millions of people in the country.
If this resolution is passed, it should allow millions of Pakistani users to make money directly from Facebook. Facebook has been operating in the country for a long time but it was yet to finalize its monetization policy for Pakistan due to local restrictions.
