In a major policy reversal, the Punjab government has officially lifted the ban on all types of leave for government employees, allowing them to apply for and avail leave as per existing rules and regulations, officials confirmed Tuesday.
The ban had been imposed earlier due to the prevailing war-like conditions, which had placed government departments on high alert and frozen all non-essential absences.
With the situation now stabilising, the provincial administration has restored normal HR protocols, enabling employees to resume leave under standard procedures.
It is to be noted that on the orders of Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz, the leaves of the provincial employees were cancelled amid war with India after New Delhi violated Pakistan’s sovereignty by attacking civilians.
